Bandon Population: 2,800

Eugene Population: 200,000
Eugene is a south Willamette Valley haven nestled between the Cascade and Coast ranges. The blue-green Willamette River and surrounding Douglas fir forests have lent Eugene the nickname of "The Emerald City." Rated as one of the top 10 cycling cities in the U.S., Eugene is perhaps more famous for its eccentric residents and progressive initiatives.

Florence Population: 7,000
Florence is a small city near the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. In addition to beautiful beaches out of town, Florence has a little harbor and small downtown area easily explored on an afternoon meander.

Umpqua River
"Umpqua" means "thundering water" in the Chinook language, and the Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River certainly can thunder. The river is renowned for both fishing and floating.
