Detroit Lake State Park

Nestled up beside a winding highway below a frame of pine trees and a bright Oregon sky, Detroit Lake, a nine-mile long manmade stretch of blue, is at its busiest when the valley heats up in summer. From fishing and water skiing to camping and picnicking this is the perfect escape from week-long drudgery. Make sure to check out the exhibits in the visitors center and leave yourself time to do some wildlife watching.
