Medford Travel Information
Medford, Oregon (pop. 69,000) is a small town in southern Oregon with
big ambitions and a friendly character. Located at a convenient
crossroads of the northwest -- roughly halfway between Portland and
San Francisco and near many southern Oregon destinations -- Medford
welcomes visitors. A clean and vibrant downtown offers a selection of
restaurants, shops, art galleries and entertainment, while a wide
selection of hotels serve travellers looking for inexpensive
alternatives to lodging at more popular nearby attractions. The
Medford area is certainly a pleasant one, which helps explain the
city's recent growth. Surrounding mountains shield the town from
temperature extremes, producing warm summers and mild winters.
Old-fashioned covered bridges stretch across the many rivers and
streams that run through the Rogue Valley and the surrounding
foothills and mountains. It's easy to enjoy outdoor recreation
activities such as hiking, biking, rafting, and golf at the state
parks and other open areas nearby. Even the beach is less than a two
hour drive to the west. Medford is located in southern Oregon, along
Interstate 5 just north of Ashland. For more information about the
